Deleted Clips - HP OOTP

We all love Harry, but Ron is always there for him. Never is the spotlight himself. (OK I sound a bit freaky, I'll give you that)

Mtv has deleted sence this is 1 of 3. I must say they aren't that impressive and very breif. Should have left them in.

Halloween

Wow, what fun that was. We have a great group of kids in our neighborhood that we go out with and our old neighbors come too.

Here the boys are with our old neighbors (and thier Mom, she's Darth)

Here is LJ and his best friend at school.

Anikan and Obi-Wan....Student and Master

LJ's party at Flipz

Check out the air LJ caught....He looks pretty happy here.

He decided to wear his "Marrying Clothes" to the party. When I asked him who he was marrying, he said, I don't know yet and one of the little boys asked, ' Does she look like a mermaid?'
After seeing this picture, I'd guess I'd better work on my posture. Do they make back braces for hump backs?

This place is trully the best for parties...you can run, tumble and jump into a big pit of foam. Even the adults have to play in it.

An Early Start on Halloween

LJ just had his birthday so the boys (and Sophie) had an early start on Jedi training. Little Yoda was on hand to offer guidace and wisdom.
Your looking at Obi-Wan Kanobi, Boba Fett and Yoda. Do you think Dad should be Darth Vader?

Our Trip to "George Washington"

It's really too cute to correct them when they say it. I know I could be making their adult life difficult by not correcting them, but they'll live through it.

Here is our latest family pictures. After taking 20 shots...well Mom's know, it's hard to get everyone to look at the camera and keep their hands down.

Back to Washington.

The boys favorite photo is from the Smithsonian. Don't I have just the most educated and intelecual children around? Oh I guess not, it was from The Museum of American History, the Star Wars display.
Then here we are....how romantic......

Labor Day...goodbye pool

We went to the Beach Club yesterday to say goodbye to summer and well, one of the newspapers was there. This made it into today's paper.

I just love this picture with the water bubbles floating over their heads. LJ thinks he's going so fast. Next year he'll be too big to go down with Dad, I'm lucky we have this picture to remember this.

A boys' best friend

Our neighbor's tree fell in the storm yesterday. As he was cleaning it up, LJ when to say hi and we all followed and talk to him for a bit. While we were all talking nice, their dog who is hates our dog with a passion was letting LJ pet him then decided to bite him. (nice)
As any dog owner who has a dog who bites a child, he looks at the dog then back to us and says, "he shouldn't have done that"
I'm thinking our cute little puppy would have found out verbally that she shouldn't have done that. She would have known, that was wrong. The word NO in a loud voice to a dog does not hurt them, but does scare then and they can understand what they did was wrong.
What would the Dog Whisperer do?

Vacation at the Lake

We have some great friends with wonderful parents and they have invited us back to the lake again this year. The lake I am talking about is Table Rock Lake and it's a little piece of heaven. It's a much larger lake than the one I used to go to as a teenager, and totally better!
I have spend the good part of 20 minutes looking for an mp3 of the Go-Go's Vacation (Steve wanted us to sing that as he performed his sking act for us :-)

Anyway, I could by it from iTunes, but I can't play that format on this blog. Here are a few pictures of us on Big Bertha.

All the kids went tubing today and the big ones even skied. Reese is a great skier and JP, on his first time got nearly up. He was so happy! I'm missing a few pictures and will have to come back later to update..... Before our weekend is out we need to create and preform our anual water-ballet and eat our Petero's and Frog-Eyed Salad. Yum-e!

But look at these two pictures...this is so them.

Just for Summer

Since our schedule changes during summer, I've found myself reading a few gossip blogs.

I'd like to share my top 3.

www.people.com - Good for clean coverage and good pictures with some stories.
www.thesuperficial.com - Good for sarcasm and pics that are not taken from the most flattering angle.
www.perezhilton.com - A bit of everything with his (the queen) own touch.

* disclaimer - I am not responsible if you are offended or think I have bad taste (which is true sometimes)

Book Review - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Wow!

She sure did it. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, so I can't say much except that I am in a Harry Potter hang-over.

We were kidless over the weekend and instead of fun nights out, we sat at home and read and read and read. We totally felt detached from the rest of the outside world and really prefered out books. (Yes we bought 2)

Now that it's over and I don't need to read every waking minute, I can get back to my life.

Book Review -What will happen in HP 7

16 hours to go! It's bitter sweet isn't it?

I read this book last week after it was dropped it off in my mailbox:-o

Let me just say, it was WONDERFUL. It was really a great Potter fix that I was craving. Last week I was so ready for the book and had fresh in my mind what I was looking for when I finally get to read it.

Today, just hours away from the release of Book 7, after reading one sentence in the New York Post which reviewed the book early, I am grieving.

JKR's provides a little lift in her latest message from the Room of Requirements.
  • Within hours you will know what happens to Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest in their final adventure. All the secrets I have been carrying around for so long will be yours, too, and those who guessed correctly will be vindicated, and those who guessed wrongly will not, I hope, be too disappointed! As for me, I feel a heady mixture of excitement, nerves and relief. 'Deathly Hallows' remains my favourite of the series, even after several re-reads; I cannot wait to share it with the readers who have stuck with me through six previous books.

What type of drink are you?

You Are a Mai Tai

You aren't a big drinker, but you'll drink if the atmosphere is festive.
And when you're drunk, watch out! You're easily carried away.
Had I only know this earlier, I guess it's never too late.
I linked this off EE.

High School Reunion

I just got the invitation to my 15th High School Reunion and can't go :-(
Last time, at the 10 year reunion, LJ was due any day. This time, we'll be in Washington DC for a convention. Does it sound like I am making excuses? It is a bit stressful.

Anyway, here is the "candid" of me that made it into the yearbook.
Ouch! If that doesn't scream Future Programmer (accurate) I don't know what does. Loved that class (Computer Business Applications). ....one of two that rocked in.

It really would be nice to see everyone. See who is up to what and remember the good times. Heather O'Hare put togehter a hella cool site too, www.PCHSclassof1992.com There is always the 20th.

It really has been too long since my last update. I really aught to try staying at home a little more.

Rocheport's 5th Annual 4th of July Parade

For all the years we lived in Rocheport, we were never in the parade. This year, however is a different story. We got the call early Wednesday morning inviting us down we made it just in time.

What I didn't capture on film was the guests at the B&B standing outside waving, while they drank their coffee and threw candy at us. So much for my photo journalim, but maybe next time I'll remember that.

Let it Rain

Since we've had 4 straight days of rain, you would have thought it was spring, not the middle of summer. It's a huge drag too because we can't go to the pool and we are stuck in-doors.

Well you know boys, stuck in a house together, they start to fight, so Dad fixed them up the cutest little poncho's ever and made them play in the rain.
Do you remember those days of playing in light non- thunderous rain storms. Obviously it was to novel of an idea for our kids who kept wanting to come in.

We told them it was good for them and to find a puddle or pull some weeds.

At the end JP was LJ's protector, the one time it was OK to put a plastic bag over his head.

Confessions of an English Junkie

Q: What book are you reading now?

A:
Q: What is the latest YouTube you've seen?
A: (You must really understand Lilly Allen to appreciate this)
Q:What is the next book or movie you plan to watch?
A: Well, Harry Potter of course.

On to Brighter and Wetter Days

JP has started swim team. We made a meet last week and learned the art of swiming, competing and intimidation :-)

Poetry in Music

I found myself in the car alone for a few hours yesterday with my iPod. (Don't worry, I wasn't wearing headphones, I have the car adapter). Things really change when you don't have company to "share" the radio with.

I havn't bought any good music lately and what I have is just something to listen too, but back in the 1990's (how typically of a person getting older), Ani DiFranco's music really touched me. No one I knew listend to her or gave her much credit other than being a feminist, but I trully believe she's a poet as well as musician, she's a folk punk artist.

I didn't get the song to play, but the link below is a link to the song 32 Flavors. http://www.righteousbabe.com/store/asx/notaprettygirl/32flavors.asx

thirty two flavors

squint your eyes and look closer
i'm not between you and your ambition
i am a poster girl with no poster
i am thirty-two flavors and then some
and i'm beyond your peripheral vision
so you might want to turn your head
cause someday you're going to get hungry
and eat most of the words you just said

both my parents taught me about good will
and i have done well by their names
just the kindness i've lavished on strangers
is more than i can explain
still there's many who've turned out their porch lights
just so i would think they were not home
and hid in the dark of their windows
till i'd passed and left them alone
and god help you if you are an ugly girl
course too pretty is also your doom
cause everyone harbors a secret hatred
for the prettiest girl in the room
and god help you if you are a phoenix
and you dare to rise up from the ash
a thousand eyes will smolder with jealousy
while you are just flying past

i'm not trying to give my life meaning
by demeaning you
and i would like to state for the record
i did everything that i could do
i'm not saying that i'm a saint
i just don't want to live that way
no, i will never be a saint
but i will always say

squint your eyes and look closer
i'm not between you and your ambition
i am a poster girl with no poster
i am thirty-two flavors and then some
and i'm beyond your peripheral vision
so you might want to turn your head
cause someday you might find you're starving
and eating all of the words you said

A good day of fishing for Father's Day

Happy Father's Day

We spent Father's Day out at Lake Louise fishing with my Dad for Father's Day along with my brother's family. After all the fishing, we didn't get a picture of Dad. He was busy running around taking our pictures and taking the kids on boat rides.

Psst, this is a large mouth bass I was about to kiss, I caught it!!! It weighed 3lbs 4 ozs.

Heavily Dependent on Others

We had a great weekend with some family friends who came into town. 6 Families, 3 houses and 2 1/2 days = 17 of us in all for fun filled days of food, drink, boccie ball and darts.

One good side effect about company coming to stay at your house is you get the last little projects completed. We re-decorated the guest room and near by bath as well has changed a light fixture and cleaned really good.

The title comes from the fact that the good pictures are on someone else's camera and I am at their mercy to send them to me. I'm sorry for those of you who aren't shown here, I'm waiting, here's mine...

We figured we'd do this again in 5 years. When we figured when that would be it's 2012. Can that be right? Can we be that into the new millennium? Crazy.

Go Rabbits!!!

As LJ would say, really it's Rapids. Anyway JP had a wopping 5 goals scored at todays tournament. (a personal record....a family record for that matter.)

The weather today couldn't have been better!

Mother's Day

This is what I got for Mother's Day, a bike ride to the flooded river. After which JP was sweet enought to buy me my very own purple bike helmet so I will no longer be heckeled on the trails.

But here's this mother's favorite picture....

Flat Stanley...popular in NYC

Here are a few pictures of Flat Stanley and Uncle Tim's arm traveling around NYC....
(the bossy sister I am, have requested more than an arm in the next photos, a face would be nice)

Tim said Flat Stanley was so popular at people kept coming up asking if it were him. They each wanted to tell their own story. He also mentioned that if a person was single in the city, taking Stanley around would be a great way to meet people.
